Renate Stark-Voit

Renate Stark-Voit (born November 30, 1953 ) is a German musicologist based in Vienna .

Life

Renate Voit studied musicology (including with Gösta Neuwirth at the Graz University of Music ) and obtained her doctorate at the University of Vienna with a thesis on Gustav Mahler (reviewer Walter Pass and Theophil Antonicek ). Her first marriage was to the Viennese musicologist and librarian Ernst Hilmar and published under the name Hilmar-Voit .

Stark-Voit has been working closely with the American baritone Thomas Hampson since 1989 . She works primarily as an editor of scores. She is active on the board of the International Gustav Mahler Society .
