Renato Dirnei Florencino , known as Renato (born May 15, 1979 in Santa Mercedes , São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

Life

Renato has completed 30 international matches so far. Three of them in the Confederations Cup in 2005 , twelve in the 2006 World Cup qualifying , one international friendly match in 2004 and six games in the Copa America in Peru 2004. He was also a member of the Brazilian squad for the 2006 World Cup . Renato also appeared in the UEFA Cup seven times for Sevilla FC ( 2004/05 ). Before moving to Spain, he played in Brazil for Santos FC and Guarani FC . Renato is a dual citizen of Brazil and Spain .

On May 26, 2011 it was announced that Renato is moving to Botafogo FR in his home country with immediate effect . There he signed a three-year contract.

In 2014 Renato returned to Santos . The contract had a term until the end of the year. This contract was extended in January 2015. Renato also received corresponding contracts with Santos for the years 2016 to 2018 . On September 18, 2018, he was appointed Santos Football Director with immediate effect. Nevertheless, he played games for the club until the end of the season. Then he ended his active career. For Santos, he is said to have played 425 games (33 goals) and won four titles in all competitions in all seasons.
