Renato Luiz Rodrigues Marques (born March 4, 1944 in Rio Grande , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Renato Luiz Rodrigues Marques studied at Georgetown University and the Free University of Brussels . From 1970 to 1973 he was employed in the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , which is metonymically Itamaraty . From 1973 to 1976 he was second class delegation secretary and intermittent chargé d' affaires at the Latin American Free Trade Association ( Montevideo , Uruguay ), from 1976 to 1980 first class delegation secretary in Washington, DC

From 1980 to 1983 he headed the Information Department at Itamaraty, from 1983 to 1987 he was Counselor for the Representation of the Brazilian Government to the European Community in Brussels and from 1987 to 1989 Counselor for the Representation of the Brazilian Government at the Latin American Integration Association (Montevideo , Uruguay).

From 1991 to 1992 he was deputy head of the trade department . From 1992 to 1993 he was State Secretary for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Science and Technology. From 1994 to 1999 he was Diretor-General do Departamento de Integração Latino-Americana (Head of the Latin American Integration Department).

From 1999 to 2002 he was Consul General in Barcelona . From December 26, 2002 to 2009 he was ambassador to Kiev . From 2005 he was also at the government in Bishkek , Kyrgyzstan accredited . He has been ambassador to Minsk since May 17, 2011 .
