Junior Luge World Championships 1982

The 1st Junior World Luge Championship was held in January 1982 in the US city ​​of Lake Placid . In the individual disciplines, three runs were carried out on January 22nd, but the fourth individual run on January 23rd was canceled due to heavy snowstorms. Athletes from the German Democratic Republic , the Soviet Union , the United States , Canada , Japan , Austria , the Federal Republic of Germany , Sweden and Italy took part in the competitions. The starting field in the junior single-seater comprised 32 participants, and 20 women took part in the junior single-seater competition.
