action

Since his son Cliff disappears on a well-deserved 10-day vacation, the resourceful Harry Haber, owner of a furniture rental, temporarily takes over his children's home. When he overhears a couple's argument about family planning in the restaurant at the next table, he offers them, Russ and Valerie Syracuse, the three siblings Brandon, Kyle and Molly, 13, 10 and 5 years old, for a preferential rent "3 for 1", however, the offer is only valid immediately and for ten days. The Syracuse agree and then rent a dog, with which Harry has inspired Molly for the Syracuse. Cliff is almost hit when he finds the lease on his desk after ten days and drives to the address where Harry is picking up the children. The couple draws the conclusion that they would make miserable parents, the children deserve something better than them. Then it comes out of Valerie's heart: “I don't want any more children, I want these children.” And both rush out onto the street and first adopt the children and finally the dog. Cliff puzzles why he has tried in vain for years to place the children and Harry manages it in such a short time. Harry sums up: "The magic of making people happy is a gift." And drives away.

criticism

The lexicon of international films judges: “A well-intentioned family comedy that doesn't want to hurt anyone, but lacks speed and humor. The bizarre initial idea is only insufficiently used and the comedy of the main actor is reduced to puns. "

backgrounds

In 1998 a sequel to the film was released under the title The Crazy Cannon , in which Nielsen again took on the role of Harry Haber .
