The Resolution 1761 of the UN Security Council is a resolution on the situation in the Ivory Coast that the United Nations Security Council has adopted unanimously at its 5700th meeting on 20 June of 2007. The resolution extended the mandate of the expert group to monitor the trade ban in arms and rough diamonds in Ivory Coast until October 15, 2007. The ban has been in place since 2004 to put a stop to the civil war between the rebels ruling in the north of the country and government forces in the south.

With the resolution, the United Nations Security Council relied on resolution 1727 (2006) .

In making its decision, the Security Council took into account the report of the expert group on the monitoring of the embargo (UN document S / 2007/349) and considered the situation in Ivory Coast to be a threat to peace and stability in the region. Under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations , the Security Council therefore decided to extend the mandate of the expert group in the scope of Resolution 1727 and instructed the expert group to report to the Security Council on the implementation of the measures in accordance with Resolution 1572 (2004) before the mandate expired Refund resolutions 1572 (2004) and 1643 (2005) .
