The UN Security Council Resolution 1980 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council unanimously decided at its 6525th meeting, on 28 April 2011th She deals with the situation in the government crisis in Ivory Coast 2010/2011 .

With Resolution 1980 the Security Council extended the arms embargo for the Ivory Coast by one year.
The travel ban for Laurent Gbagbo and several of his confidants has also been extended.
Reactions
The Ivorian UN ambassador to New York, Youssoufou Bamba , welcomed the resolution on behalf of Alassane Ouattara .
