Resolution 1984 of the UN Security Council was on 9. June 2011 having regard to the resolutions 1696 , 1737 , 1747 , 1803 , 1835 , 1887 and 1929 adopted. The aforementioned resolutions all deal with the behavior of Iran and non- proliferation .

The Security Council extended the mandate of an expert group to monitor the sanctions against the Iranian nuclear program for another year until June 9, 2012 . The group of experts is expected to report to the Security Council by December 9, 2011 and the end of its mandate.

The resolution tabled by Germany , France , Great Britain and the USA was adopted with 14 votes and Lebanon's abstention .
