The Resolution 150 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in the 891st session on August 23 1960th It dealt with the admission of Ivory Coast as a new member of the United Nations .
background
The Federation of French Possessions in West Africa, French West Africa , was in dissolution in 1958. Until 1959, Félix Houphouët-Boigny presented himself as a clear opponent of the solution on the Ivory Coast of France. The French President Charles de Gaulle himself, however, suggested independence to the French colonies while maintaining a loose tie to France. Shortly thereafter, relevant documents were signed with France and on August 7, 1960 independence was proclaimed under the name of the Republic of "Côte d´Ivoire".

The Security Council announced that it had examined the admission of Ivory Coast as a new member of the United Nations and recommended that the UN General Assembly approve it.
