The UN Security Council Resolution 154 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in the 891st session on August 23 1960th It dealt with the admission of the Central African Republic as a new member of the United Nations .

France dissolved the colony of French Equatorial Africa on September 28, 1958 . On December 1, 1958, Central Africa received internal autonomy as part of the French colonies . Barthélemy Boganda became Prime Minister on December 8, 1958 . On August 13, 1960, the country was given independence by France under the name "Central African Republic". David Dacko became the first president.

The Security Council announced that it had examined the Central African Republic's admission as a new member of the United Nations and recommended that the UN General Assembly approve its admission.

The Central African Republic joined the United Nations on September 20, 1960.
