The UN Security Council Resolution 151 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in the 891st session on August 23 1960th It dealt with the admission of Chad as a new member of the United Nations .
background
France dissolved the colony of French Equatorial Africa on September 28, 1958 . Chad, like the other parts of Gabon , Congo (Brazzaville) , and the Central African Republic , became “autonomous members” of the “French Community” on November 28, 1958 . On August 11, 1960, Chad became formally independent under its first president, François Tombalbaye .

The Security Council announced that it had examined the admission of Chad as a new member of the United Nations and recommended that the UN General Assembly approve its admission.
