The Resolution 153 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in the 891st session on August 23 1960th It dealt with the admission of Gabon as a new member in the United Nations .
background
On September 28, 1958, France dissolved the colony of French Equatorial Africa , and in 1959 Gabon became an “autonomous republic” in France, with Léon M'ba as head of government and Paul Gondjout as president of parliament. Although M'ba expressly warned against premature independence, which, due to the underdevelopment of Gabon, seemed to inevitably lead to "a kind of neo-colonialism", the move towards decolonization could no longer be stopped. Gabon declared its independence on August 17, 1960.
content
