The United Nations Security Council Resolution 152 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in the 891st session on August 23 1960th It dealt with the admission of the Republic of the Congo (also Congo-Brazzaville ) as a new member in the United Nations .
background
France dissolved the colony of French Equatorial Africa on September 28, 1958 . The Congo, like the other parts of Gabon , Chad , and the Central African Republic , became "autonomous members" of the "French Community" on November 28, 1958 . On the same day, Central Congo was renamed " Congolese Republic " and became independent on August 15, 1960.

The Security Council announced that it had examined the acceptance of the Republic of the Congo as a new member of the United Nations and recommended that the UN General Assembly approve its acceptance.
