Reto Nause (born June 17, 1971 in Birmenstorf ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ). He has been a councilor for the city of Bern since January 1, 2009 .

Career

After graduating from the canton school in Baden , Nause studied history , political science and constitutional law at the University of Zurich from 1992 to 1999 . From 1994 to 1996 he was President of the Young CVP of the Canton of Aargau and from 1996 to 2000 party secretary of the CVP Aargau. In 1999, Nause was the initiator of the advertising campaign described by the Aargauer Zeitung as “Showering with Doris”, in which shower gel bags with the portrait of the then national and Council of States candidate Doris Leuthard were distributed. 2000/2001 Nause was managing director of the pilots union Aeropers . From 2001 to 2008 he was Secretary General of CVP Switzerland, and from 2004 to 2008 he was also a member of the Bern City Council .

Since January 1, 2009, Nause has been a municipal councilor for the city of Bern and heads the Directorate for Safety, Environment and Energy. He was confirmed in office on November 25, 2012 and November 30, 2016.

In 2019 he ran unsuccessfully for the National Council elections .

He is married and has two sons.
