Rhabanus Erbacher
P. Rhabanus Erbacher OSB (* 1937 in Mosbach ) is a German theologian and musician .
Live and act
Rhabanus Erbacher grew up in his birthplace, Mosbach, and attended the school of the Münsterschwarzach Abbey . He's since 1958 Benedictine monk and in 1963 for priests ordained. He studied theology and music ( school music , organ ) in Würzburg and Munich.
Erbacher worked from 1971 to 2002 as a music teacher, choir and orchestra leader at the Egbert-Gymnasium Münsterschwarzach . He works on the Klais organ of the abbey. a. with Dominikus Trautner as organist. He also manages the music library there, which has a good 44,000 titles. As a specialist in Gregorian chant , he is co-editor of the Benedictine Antiphonale , as well as a specialist in semiology .
