Rhytm Police is a German Indietronic band from Bavaria , whose members live in Augsburg and Munich .

history

Leo Hopfinger and Tom Simonetti get to know each other in 2001 at the "beatznbytez" series of events in the Hirsch Lindenberg (Ostallgäu). Together they play in the improvisation and session band mongkong at various art and club events in southern Germany. Between 2003 and 2006 the two musicians performed the solo project of bassist Leo Hopfinger as a band called “leroy schlimm” at various concerts in Germany and Austria. At that time you presented yourself on the Internet on FM4 # Soundpark . For example, in 2005 they performed live for a Studio 2 session on FM4 in Vienna .

After a short creative break, both musicians met at the beginning of 2007 for several spontaneous improv sessions in the rehearsal room and made some tracks out of them. Editor friend Wolfgang Weigl produced a video clip for so flyyy with Axel König . For the video premiere, the band Rhytm Police was founded and played their first concert in the Westtorhalle Murnau . In addition to numerous live performances in the following years, the debut album turbo bells was created in 2008, which was produced and partially mixed in collaboration with Christian Heiss ( Lali Puna ) in the Portmanteau Studio in Munich. The album became album of the week at Zündfunk in January 2009 .

By 2012 Rhytm Police had played well over 100 concerts, mainly in southern Germany, Austria and Italy. There were three short tours in Russia with concerts in Moscow, Kaluga, Ryazan, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

In November 2012 they release the second album debaser on the newly founded label "In Gute Zeiten ".

style

The group's musical style is often referred to as indietronic or electro punk. Essential features are many external influences from various musical styles and a conscious break of rules and border crossings, characterized by the obvious mistake in the band name.
