Ri Jun-il (born August 24, 1987 in Kaesŏng ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

Ri appears internationally as a player in the sports group Sobaeksu , a club of the Korean People's Army .

He was the only player of the North Korean national team in all 16 qualifying games for the 2010 World Cup. He formed the defensive line with Cha Jong-hyok , Pak Nam-chol and Ri Kwang-chon , which remained 10 times without conceding goals in the 14 games of the 2nd and 3rd qualifying round and thus formed the basis for success.

For the North Korean U-23 selection, he played several times in 2007 in the Olympic qualification, but failed with the team in the last qualifying phase. In 2008 Ri was part of the final squad at the East Asian Championship in 2008 , and in 2010 he surprisingly missed the final round with the team.
