Rich Cronin

Richard Burton "Rich" Cronin (born August 30, 1974 in Boston , Massachusetts ; † September 8, 2010 ibid) was an American singer and songwriter. He was the singer and composer of the pop group LFO .

Early life

Cronin grew up in Kingston , Massachusetts and attended Sacred Heart High School . His brother Mike Cronin was the manager of the pop group O-Town .

LFO

Cronin was a member of the group "Lyte Funky Ones" (LFO). He also wrote the song Summer Girls , with which the group broke through in 1999. The single reached platinum status in the US with one million units sold.

According to LFO

In 2007 he took part in the VH1 reality show Mission: Man Band . Also there were Chris Kirkpatrick ( N'Sync ), Jeff Timmons (98) and Bryan Adams ( Color Me Badd ). The three got together and recorded some songs with the producer Billion Dollar. Trillion Dollars got them an appearance on the Howard Stern Show .

Between 2006 and 2008, Cronin formed the rap duo "Loose Cannons" with Doug Ray (Bad Ronald). They released the album "Life goes on".

Reunion with LFO

On January 3rd, 2009 LFO announced on their MySpace page: "LFO IS BACK". They announced a tour for July of that year. A new single called Summer of my Life should also be released. In September 2009 the group separated again.

Sickness and death

In March 2005, Rich Cronin went to hospital with a severe headache. The doctors diagnosed him with acute myeloid leukemia . In 2006 he recovered from the illness. He set up his own foundation under the name "Rich Cronin Hope Foundation". In the summer of 2010, his health deteriorated and he had to be hospitalized again. On September 8, 2010, he died of a stroke at the age of 36 at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston .
