Richard B. Goodwin

Richard B. Goodwin (born September 9, 1934 in England ) is a British film producer , screenwriter , production manager and special effects artist .

Life

While working as a producer on the Shakespeare film Romeo and Juliet , Goodwin met his future wife, the set designer Christine Edzard . Together with her he wrote the screenplay for the ballet film Trixis Wonderland three years later based on the children's stories by Beatrix Potter . In 1975 the two founded the production company Sands Films in London . Goodwin was first nominated for an Oscar in 1985 for his work in the film Journey to India . His last job as a producer was the 1997 film Seven Years in Tibet, starring Brad Pitt .

He is the father of Daisy Goodwin , the editor-in-chief of Talkback Productions . He is also the father-in-law of Marcus Wilford .
