Richard Eickhoff

Richard Eickhoff (born October 20, 1854 in Moers ; † February 18, 1931 in Remscheid ) was a high school professor and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Eickhoff attended the Progymnasium in Moers, the Königliche Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne from 1864 to 1872 and the universities of Leipzig , Heidelberg , Bonn from 1872 to 1876 and Kiel in 1881. In 1874 he became a member of the Bonn fraternity of Frankonia . Between 1876 and 1879 he was private tutor in Duisburg and 1881 in Kiel, from 1882 to 1884 high school teacher in Herford and since 1884 full teacher or senior teacher in Remscheid. From 1879–80 he was a one-year volunteer in the 2nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Crown Prince" in Munich , but soon afterwards he was unfit for field service.

He was a member of the Reichstag since 1898 for the constituency of Erfurt 3 administrative district ( Mühlhausen , Langensalza , Weißensee ) and the Free People's Party . In 1907 he was elected twice and accepted the mandate for the constituency administrative district Düsseldorf 1 ( Remscheid , Lennep , Mettmann ). From 1904 to 1918 he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He was also a member of the city council in Remscheid since 1898. Eickhoff wrote a number of educational, literary and other writings.
