Richard Fire

Richard Fire (born November 12, 1945 in Paterson , New Jersey - † July 8, 2015 in Red Bank , New Jersey) was an American screenwriter and actor .

Life

Richard Fire was born on November 12, 1945 in Paterson. He began his acting career in the 1970s at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . There he was discovered by Stuart Gordon and from then on he performed with the Organic Theater Company he founded in Chicago .

In 1979 Fire began his screenwriting career with the television film Bleacher Bums , in which he also made his debut as a film actor. Fires greatest success as a screenwriter was the 1986 thriller Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer , for which he was awarded at the Portuguese film festival Fantasporto together with John McNaughton in the category for the best screenplay.

Fires film roles were mostly limited to supporting roles, including 1986 as a guest star in the television series The Lady with the Colt . In 1988 he played his most famous role as Dr. Seaton in the horror film Poltergeist III: The Dark Side of Evil .

In 1991 Fire wrote the script for John McNaughton's horror film Alien Killer . In 2001 he ended his film career with the remake of Bleacher Bums ( Wettfieber ), in which he also had a supporting role as a catering assistant.

Richard Fire was married with one son. He died on July 8, 2015 after a brief illness at the age of 69 in a Red Bank hospital.
