Reviews
- Richard Harrington (critic of The Washington Post ) wrote that the horror film was "superior genre fare," better made than most low-budget films. He relies on actors rather than special effects. The film is similar to the film noir classics of the 1950s. The direction of the film shows depth.
- Rotten Tomatoes wrote that the horror film was "gruesome" and amusing in a dark way, that it had black humor. The director shows in his "masterpiece" a "confusing" vision of the world.
