Richard Forstmann

Richard Forstmann (* 17th February 1877 in Port Hoff at cost ; † 16th October 1951 in Essen ) was a German mining engineer and association functionary .

Life

After graduating from the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Poznan and doing military service as a one-year volunteer , Richard Forstmann studied at the universities of Heidelberg, Freiburg and Berlin. In 1900 he became a member of the Corps Hasso-Borussia Freiburg . In 1902 he passed the first state examination and in 1906 the second state examination. He received his doctorate in engineering. He then began his professional career at Deutsche Kaliwerke in Nordhausen am Harz. In 1907 he switched to the Association for Mining Interests in the Oberbergamtsiertel Dortmund ( mining association for short ) and became a member of the management of the association as well as an employee of the technical magazine Glückauf . The management of the newly established him in 1910 Head Office for mine rescue transmitted in food. He also headed the mining damage department of the mining association on security and mountain police issues. He was a member of the association assembly and the association committee of the Ruhrsiedlungsverband (RSV) .

Forstmann wrote numerous articles on mine safety, mine rescue services and mine accidents, most of which were published in the Glückauf magazine . Most recently he lived in Hovestadt .
