Richard Gelke (born May 19, 1992 in Reutlingen ) is a German ice hockey player who is currently under contract with the VER Selb .
Career
Richard Gelke began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of ES Weißwasser , for which he was active in the school league in the 2004/05 season. He then spent two years with the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , for which he also appeared in the school league. From 2007 to 2011, the winger was on the ice for Jungadler Mannheim in the German Junior League. With these he won the DNL championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010. During the 2010/11 season he also made his debut with Adler Mannheim, for whose professional team he played a game in the German Ice Hockey League . At the same time, as a loan player, he prepared two goals in 18 games for the Heilbronner Falken from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . In the following season , the junior international was able to increase to 13 DEL appearances for Mannheim, while he scored two goals and four assists in 23 games for Heilbronn in the 2nd Bundesliga.
In the 2012/13 season Gelke was initially only used for the Heilbronner Falken in the 2nd Bundesliga, but took part in the preparation for the season with the Adler Mannheim in the European Trophy as in the previous year .
Gelke began the 2013/14 season with the Schwenninger Wild Wings , before moving to the Oberliga in January 2014 for the Löwen Frankfurt . With these he made it to the second division, the DEL2, at the end of the season .
In 2015 Gelke switched to the Heilbronner Falken. In 2019, however, his contract was terminated there and he moved to VER Selb in the Oberliga Süd .
International
For Germany Gelke took part in the U20 Junior World Championship of Division IA 2012 .
