Richard Hauser (theologian)

Richard Franz Josef Hauser (born February 6, 1903 in Karlsruhe , † June 12, 1980 in Bühl ) was a Catholic clergyman and theologian. He is Hugo Hauser's brother .

Life

Hauser was born the son of Reich Railway Director Franz Joseph Hauser and his wife Sophie Magdalena, née Kieninger. Between 1913 and 1918 he attended grammar school in Tauberbischofsheim, 1918-1919 in Mannheim and 1920-1921 Karlsruhe. He graduated from high school with distinction. He then studied theology at the University of Freiburg until 1925 . He did an away semester in Münster in Westphalia. He then spent a year in the St. Peter seminary in the Black Forest. In 1926 he was ordained a priest in St. Peter. Subsequently, he was vicar in Bruchsal , parish St. Peter and in Mannheim, parish Heiliggeist . From 1929 to 1957 he was student chaplain , Caritas rector and religion teacher in Heidelberg . In 1942 he received his doctorate. theol. in Freiburg with doctoral supervisor Prof. Dr. Theodor Münker with the subject of the problem of authority in modern Protestant ethics in the light of Catholic social teaching . From April 16, 1943, he was parish administrator of Holy Spirit Parish in Heidelberg and at December 15, 1946 took place the investiture to the pastor. In 1949 he was appointed honorary professor for Catholic Weltanschauung at the University of Heidelberg . Between 1969 and 1976 he was city dean. On June 12, 1980 he retired.
