Richard Plum Tree
Richard Pflaumbaum (born September 11, 1884 in Hoppenmühle , † September 25, 1971 in Arneburg ) was a German educator , historian and museologist .
Life
Pflaumbaum was born the son of a farmer and miller. He attended elementary school for eight years and from 1899 to 1903 the preparatory institute and the teachers' college in Osterburg . In 1905 he passed the first teacher examination in Osterburg. From 1903 to 1922 he worked at the elementary school in Döbbelin , in 1928 he switched to the elementary school in Arneburg, where he finally became rector. From 1934 he volunteered at the local museum that he initiated . In 1954 he resigned from the school service and devoted himself full-time to the management of the museum until his 86th birthday. He expanded the museum into a landscape museum, which deals with the history, but also with the geology , flora and fauna of Arneburg. Plum tree also dealt with prehistory and early history. Between 1953 and 1967 he made 40 reports of finds.
In 1971 the city of Arneburg granted him honorary citizenship .
