Richard Podloucky

Richard Podloucky (* 1947 in Harsefeld ) is a German zoologist and non-fiction author . His main interests are native reptiles and amphibians.

Life

Podloucky completed a degree in biology. From 1977 to 1979 he was curator of the aquarium and terrarium in the aquarium house of the Stuttgart zoo Wilhelma . He then worked in the field of amphibian and reptile protection at the Lower Saxony authority for nature conservation in Hanover until his retirement . Podloucky still works on international committees and works as a reviewer.

In 1978 he became a member of the German Society for Herpetology and Terrarium Science (DGHT), where he also served on the board for nine years and has been its spokesman since the “Field Herpetology and Species Protection” working group was founded.
