Richard Rober

Richard Rober , born Richard Rauber (born May 14, 1910 in Rochester , New York , United States , † May 26, 1952 in Santa Monica , California , United States), was an American stage and film actor .

Live and act

Rober had been acting since the 1930s and made his first (still tiny) appearance in front of the camera in 1936 before going to Broadway immediately after the USA entered World War II . Until 1948 he was seen there at irregular intervals in four pieces: the three musicals Banjo Eyes, Star and Garter and Oklahoma! and in the drama Ramshackle Inn .

Based in Los Angeles since 1947, Richard Rober made his real screen debut with a minor official role in the series noir classic Password 777 . In the next five years or so, Robert shot whole (but always a little colorless) guys film on film: while he was often able to get a lead role in B-films , he was seen in A-productions alongside top stars like Clark Gable ( High Stakes ), Gary Cooper ( Storm Over the Pacific ), Barbara Stanwyck ( Thelma Jordon Criminal Case ), John Wayne ( Jet Fighter ) and Spencer Tracy ( A Gift from Heaven ) with only supporting roles.

Shortly after the shooting of the southern German thriller Des Teufels Erbe with Gene Kelly as a partner, Richard Rober was killed in a car accident in his native California.
