Richard Weil (born February 6, 1988 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German football player .

Career

Weil began his career in November 1994 in the G-Jugend of the Frankfurt suburb club TSG Niederrad. After four and a half years in Niederrad he joined in 1999 in the D-youth of Eintracht Frankfurt . At Eintracht he went through the youth classes from D-Youth to A-Youth and was taken over in the second team of the club in the summer of 2007. There he immediately became a regular player and also excelled as a goalscorer. At the end of the 2007/08 season he was fourth with Frankfurt in the Oberliga Hessen and thus qualified for the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd, which was new after the league reform . In the following year he was a fixture in the U-23 and was third with the team; however, he did not succeed in advancing to the second division team.

After the season he joined the regional league champions and promoted 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 in the summer of 2009 . He made his professional debut in the third division on July 25, 2009 when he was on the starting line-up in the 2-2 draw against Wuppertaler SV Borussia on the first match day of the 2009/10 season. Even in the higher league he consistently maintained himself as a regular player and also excelled as a goal preparer. In two years he made 17 assists and 12 goals of his own in 65 games. He struggled with muscular problems in the 2011/12 season, after which a torn ligament threw him back during the winter break. Nevertheless, he still made 26 missions without a goal of his own. On December 21, 2012, 1. FC Heidenheim announced that it would not extend its contract, which was dated June 30, 2013. At the end of January 2013, his contract was terminated prematurely. Weil then switched to the reserve of 1. FSV Mainz 05 . He rose with the team in the 3rd division and held the class in the 2014/15 season . After the season he moved to the third division, the Würzburger Kickers, and rose with the team after the 2015/16 season and two relegation games in the second division.

At the end of January 2017, he moved to 1. FC Magdeburg and also rose with the club to the 2. Bundesliga at the end of the season. After which FCM may hold had not in the 2nd League, the defender left the club and joined the Regional season 2019/20 to Kickers Offenbach on where he got a running until June 2021 contract. The contract was terminated early at the end of May 2020.

Then Weil was presented to the U21s of VfB Stuttgart , which will also compete in the Regionalliga Südwest for the 2020/21 season.
