The Richard Wolf GmbH is a company of endoscopes and endoscopic systems. It is based in Knittlingen , Enzkreis , near Karlsruhe . history
On January 15, 1906, his father Georg Wolf and a partner founded the Brückner & Wolf company, a factory for electromedical devices and instruments, in Berlin. In the same year it was renamed "Georg Wolf GmbH, Factory for Electromechanical Apparatus and Instruments". Richard Wolf joined his parents' company as an apprentice in 1922. In 1937 he received individual power of attorney and after the death of his father in 1938 became a partner and managing director. He stayed that way until the company was sequestered in 1945 .
After moving to Maulbronn , Richard Wolf and his wife Annemarie founded the new company Richard Wolf GmbH in Knittlingen on January 15, 1947 . With five employees from the father's company, the further development and new development of medical endoscopy products could be continued. After Richard Wolf's death in 1958, his widow Annemarie took up his position as partner. She continued the business alone. Shortly before her death in 1968, she set up the Richard and Annemarie Wolf Foundation and brought the shares in Richard Wolf GmbH into the foundation.
