The direction shaft or main shaft was a direction shaft of the Strassberg mining district . Due to the connection with the Hüttenstollen it is part of the Unterharzer pond and trench system .

history

The Straßberg mines were bought in 1856 by the Straßberg-Haynsche Aktiengesellschaft . The Richtschacht called Richtschacht was driven from 1858 with an underground bike room . It was planned as the central main shaft between the Glasebach and Neuhaus-Stolberg pits . From the bottom , which was sunk to 80 m , the dewatering and exploration of deeper ores up to 210 m depth should be taken over - the straightening shaft was connected to the hut tunnel via a 180 m long day tunnel , which released the mine water into the Selke .

Until 1865 only a depth of 66 m could be reached. The final depth of 210 m was then reached in 1869 using liquid explosive oil ( nitroglycerin ). At 150 meters depth which was encouraging , however, because of overloaded reel and ropes set. Found only quartz , calcite and weak galena leading the spans .

The impact water for the arts ultimately turned out to be insufficient for the unexpectedly large amount of water from old buildings. After the flooding of the burrows the promotion in 1875 has been set. The alignment shaft was verbühnt in 1876 and turned over .

Current condition

The location of the straightening shaft is indicated by a sign ( mining fir ). Neither Hornstatt nor Radstube have been preserved.
