Riedel Diegel (* 1957 in Gönningen as Rudolf Diegel) is a German harmonica player .

As a child, Riedel Diegel initially learned classical violin for seven years . As a teenager he decided to switch to the harmonica, because he - so his own words - liked the "blues harp sounds in their polarizing mixture of filigree sound and 'dirty' playing" much better.

At the age of 16 he joined the Reutlingen rock bands Gartenweg Blues Band and Grachmaschine as a harmonica player and keyboard player . In 1979 he was a founding member of the Schwobarockgruppe Schwoißfuaß , whose sound he played a decisive role in shaping his harmonica. After Schwoißfuaß broke up in 1986, he played as a guest musician with Reinhard Mey , Ute Freudenberg , LSE , Black Cat Bone and Grachmusikoff , Schwoißfuaß's sister band, among others . At the World Harmonica Festival in Trossingen in 1989 he earned the title of world champion on the blues harmonica .

Today Riedel Diegel lives and works in Cologne and is active in the band Blues Delivery .
