Life

André Schnisa was born in Leverkusen in 1951, where he also grew up. After graduating from high school , he studied psychology in Tübingen and then worked for a few years as a school psychologist in Schwäbisch Gmünd . In 1979 he gave up his work in school and became a founding member of the rock band Schwoißfuaß. There he played the electric bass and Hammond organ . He was also the band's composer and songwriter with Alex Köberlein . In 1983 he left Schwoißfuaß because he was less and less able to cope with the pressure to succeed and the arguments within the group. André Schnisa remained connected to the band to a certain extent. He became the producer of Schwoißfuaß in 1985 and played Hammond organ and guitar on the Schwoißfuaß revival tour in 1996 .

After leaving Schwoißfuaß he worked as a guest musician with Black Cat Bone , Guitar Crusher and Dieter Thomas Kuhn . André Schnisa died of stomach cancer in 1999.

André Schisa never published any music under his own name, although he composed and wrote numerous songs, especially for Schwoißfuaß. The double LP "Fremde Zigaretten" was only released posthumously with 22 of his tracks under his name.

Schnisa's best-known work is the Schwoißfuaß hit Oinr Isch Emmr Dr Arsch . However, only two of the three stanzas come from Shnisa's pen. The third verse was written by Alex Köberlein, who also translated Schnisa's original High German version into Swabian in order to adapt it to the style of the dialect band. Since 2011 the piece has always been among the top 50 of the SWR1 hit parade Baden-Württemberg . It reached the highest ranking with rank 28 in 2017. There are several cover versions of the song, for example by the bands "Muggabatschr" , "Gitze" and "Uptown Shufflers" .
