Black Cat Bone

Black Cat Bone (BCB) is a Tübingen blues rock band that was founded in 1979 and has been giving concerts all over Europe since then. The band mainly plays songs in English, but in 1983 also released an LP with Swabian lyrics with the album "Am Arsch der Welt" .

The founding formation with the brothers Hansjörg (guitar, vocals) and Robert Müller (drums), Stephan Wegner (bass) and Albrecht Schäfer (keyboards) formed in 1979 and made their first appearance under the name Black at the Rock gegen Rechts festival in Tübingen Cat bone.

In 1983 the drummer Uli Wagner joined the group. Albrecht Schäfer left the band in 1984. BCB toured as a trio in Germany, France, Spain, Holland, Austria and Switzerland until 1989 and performed at the 1985 Eurorock Festival in Barcelona.

In 1989 Linus Wahl took over the keyboards. Performances and CD productions in the following years with musicians such as Katie Webster , Sidney " Guitar Crusher " Selby, Calvin Owens (musical director of BB King ), Steve Baker , Rick Derringer ( The McCoys ), Chris Farlowe ( Colosseum ), Alvin Lee ( Ten Years After ) or Mick Taylor (the former lead guitarist of the Rolling Stones ) are milestones of the band. In 1996 they performed with Guitar Crusher at the Montreux Jazz Festival .

In 2002 Hansjörg Müller emigrated to Florida. There he works under the name McMinamin, the name of his wife, as a session musician for Junior Marvin , Downchild Blues Band and Reed Waddle and as a guitar teacher. He passed away in July 2019.

Until 2008 the band played under the name "Black Cat Bone Rhythm Section" with the rock and blues singer Tanja Telschow and the guitarists Werner Dannemann and Norbert Hahn.

Since 2009 the band has been operating under the founding name "Black Cat Bone" with Gunter Richter on guitar.

Also in 2009 BCB celebrated its 30th anniversary with the CD "Viewpoint" produced in the Neckarsound Studio in Tübingen.

At the beginning of 2012 the keyboarder Martin Holzner joined the band for Linus Wahl. In the same year Tanja Telschow was nominated for the German Blues Award .

In 2013 the CD and DVD "Live At The Pavillon" was released.

In 2016 Tanja Telschow won the German Blues Award in the female singing category.

The current line-up consists of Tanja Telschow (vocals), Gunter Richter (guitar), Martin Holzner (keyboards), Stephan Wegner (bass) and Uli Wagner (drums). The long-time companion Arno Haas on saxophone can occasionally be heard as a guest .
