Rieder is part of the municipality of Aislingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube .
The village is located two kilometers southwest of Aislingen on the heights of the Iller-Lech-Platte.
history
The name Rieder, probably derived from clearing , indicates a recent development. The first documentary mention comes to us for 1352. At that time the manor was split up, the largest property was in the Augsburg bishopric . Rieder had four farms in 1416, ten families around 1750 and thirteen houses in 1813.
Architectural monuments
There is evidence of a chapel in Rieder around 1750. Today's Catholic Chapel, St. Isidore ordained , was founded in 1916 in neo-Gothic built style. The Pietà from the previous chapel dates from the 18th century.
Desolation
In the corridor of Rieder there were several settlements that have become desolate .
- Eichenloch was first mentioned in 1175 and probably disappeared at the end of the 15th century.
- Hell , possibly just a single farm, was already lost in 1423 in the year of the first documented tradition.
- Other settlements that have been removed are Herzlingen and Ottmarshausen .
