Rimantas Šalkauskas

Rimantas Šalkauskas (born January 5, 1947 in Pavarės , Anykščiai district ) is a Lithuanian forest engineer and former politician , deputy minister .

Life

His father was Bronius Šalkauskas.

From 1953 to 1960 he studied at the Jonas Biliūnas Middle School Anykščiai . From 1960 to 1964 he graduated from Kaunas Forest Technology Center . From 1964 to 1966 R. Šalkauskas worked as an assistant to the district forester and forest technician in the Labanoras forestry in the Švenčionėliai forestry office ( Švenčionys Rajongemeinde ) and in 1966 as an engineer in the Joniškis forestry office . From 1966 to 1973 he was the district forester of Pelyšiai and Subačius in the Kupiškis Forestry Office . From 1964 to 1970 he graduated from the Forestry Faculty of Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija .

From 1973 to 1980 Šalkauskas worked as a secretary in the Kupiškis district of the Lithuanian Komsomol Committee. Šalkauskas has lived in Vilnius since 1982 . From 1982 to 1988 he was an instructor in the Department of Agriculture of Lietuvos komunistų partija and from 1988 to May 1990 Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Forestry of Lithuania and Soviet Lithuania . From 1990 to 1995, Šalkauskas worked at Valstybinės miškų kontrolės inspekcija and from 1997 to 2007 at the environmental inspection at the Lithuanian Ministry of the Environment .

With his wife Aldona Šalkauskienė (* 1946) he has the children Asta (* 1971) and Vaida (* 1979).
