architecture

Rinckartstrasse 1

The building Rinckartstrasse 1 in a prominent corner position to Leipziger Strasse directly on the market square has four floors. A cornice serves as a separation between the shop area on the ground floor and the living areas above . There is also a cornice below the roof edge. These simply profiled cornices and the window and door sockets are all contrasted with the facade in color. The entrance area to the apartments is located in a public passage between Rinckartstrasse and Rollenstrasse, which is enclosed by two segmented arched portals . The paired windows above this passage are particularly emphasized by a bay window . A square pillar forms the end to the corner of Leipziger Straße, which is followed in both streets by another segmented arch portal, each providing access to the local shop. The traditional use of the shop as a pharmacy is indicated by an ornament with an Aesculapian snake above both portals . The crowning hip roof does not require any additional superstructures.

Rinckartstrasse 7/8

The residential and commercial building Rinckartstraße 7/8, which is in closed development, has only three floors due to the distance to the market square based on the urban planning of the time. The entrances and shop windows of the shops with their simply profiled bezels are designed with segmental arches. Are also above the entrances keystones installed. Here, too, there is a cornice to separate the shop and living areas. There is also a window cornice on the first floor and the eaves. Which apart from the ground floor symmetrically designed facade of the House Parts has two bay windows on two simple brackets , the top floor with a below the roof ridge ending Walm complete. Both are decorated with motifs that are often repeated in the square.

Rinckartstrasse 10 (9a)

A building with number 10, as indicated in the list of monuments, does not exist in Rinckartstrasse. What is probably meant is the corner development Rinckart- / Karlstraße with the house number 9a, which has another entrance at Karlstraße 1. The building is dealt with in the article on the buildings at Karlstrasse 1, 2/3 and 4 .
