The castle and village belonged to Heinrich von Killer called Affenschmalz around 1400. This was followed by a landlord family Schwelher of Wielandstein whose descendants in the mid-15th century aufteilte the place in four possessions. At the end of the 16th century, the entire town came under the rule of Trochtelfingen through the exchange of territory and shared its history.
