The Hohenringingen ruin is the ruin of a hilltop castle at 877.5 m above sea level. NHN high sewing mountain near Ringingen , a district of Burladingen in the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
The keep was probably built in the 11th century and was first mentioned in a document in 1180 under Knights Dietrich and Otte von Ringingen. In 1390 Heinrich "sat here", who in 1373 brought the nickname monkey lard with him from Italy, where he had served as a condottieri in the papal army . The Hohenjungingen ruin is also popularly named after it, but it was owned by the von Jungingen family. In the 15th century the castle fell into disrepair after being destroyed and in 1508 it was referred to as the "Burgstall". A local land consolidation began in 1972 with the restoration of the ruins. The remains of Ringelstein Castle (Würtemberg) are also preserved in Ringingen .

Of the former square castle complex, which had a keep, other buildings, an outer bailey , a ditch , a circular wall and ramparts, the fully restored 15 m high keep , which has been provided with a roof since August 2008 and is accessible as a lookout tower, as well as parts of the circular wall receive.
