content

Two years after the American Civil War , Captain Montgomery Ringo returns to his hometown. On the way home he was ambushed by Mexican bandits and he learned more about the conditions there now. Disguised as a Mexican, he dares to return and there is a first meeting with the new men on site. In order to remain inconspicuous, he works as an assistant to the local gardener.

After seeing his wife, who is supposed to marry the bandit Paco, and his daughter again, Ringo begins his campaign of revenge. Ringo is supported in the fight by the gardener, the severely alcoholic sheriff and later the rest of the population and can defeat the bandits in the end.

criticism

"An above-average, psychologically tinged spaghetti western that largely dispenses with the brutalities customary in the genre and instead relies on melodramatic and lyrical elements."
