The Rio Descoberto rises in the federal district in Brazil and is a left tributary of the Rio Corumbá in the state of Goiás and thus drains over the Paraná basin into the Rio Paraná .
River course
The Rio Descoberto rises in the northwest of the federal district east-northeast of Brazlândia . In a counterclockwise direction it flows around Brazlândia until it flows into the Represa do Doscoberto reservoir in the south . The reservoir is mainly used to supply the suburbs of Brasília with water. After the dam, it is the southern border river between the federal district and the state of Goiás (municipalities: Águas Lindas de Goiás and Santo Antônio do Descoberto ). At the southern border of Santo Antônio do Descoberto it flows into the Rio Corumbá .
