Rita Henß
Rita Henß (* 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German journalist , gastronomy critic and author of travel and cookery books.
Live and act
Henß (also Rita Henss ) grew up in the west of Frankfurt. After studying Romance Studies , German and Slavonic Studies, as well as an internship at the Frankfurter Rundschau , she worked for several years as a feature editor for a subsidiary project of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and then headed the public relations department at the Frankfurt Opera . She has been working as a freelance journalist since the mid-1990s.
As a book author, she publishes travel guides and culinary volumes in renowned publishers such as Mandelbaum, Herder , Picus , Thorbecke , MairDumont , Polyglott and Travel House Media . Her works have been translated into several languages (e.g. Italian, Russian, Dutch). Her reports, portraits, glosses, features and reviews have appeared and appear in numerous German-language newspapers and magazines, such as Die Zeit , Frankfurter Rundschau, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung , adventures and travel and Die Welt . She regularly wrote restaurant reviews for food & drink . In addition, she was co-founder and co-editor / author of the (now discontinued) NORDend magazine. Currently she wears u. a. regularly contributes to the online magazine wein-welten.com and works both textually and editorially with a photography and graphics team, mainly in the areas of food & travel.
In 1997 she received one of the Alitalia International Awards for her numerous Italian publications; In 1999 she was awarded the Medaille d'Argent of the Republic of France for her coverage of the country.
Henß lives in the north end of Frankfurt , but also lived for a time in Portugal (Madeira), France (Orleans, Paris) and Spain (Barcelona).
