The River Evenlode is a watercourse in Gloucestershire , Oxfordshire , England . It arises southeast of Burton-on-the-Hill in Gloucestershire. It flows first in an easterly direction south past Moreton-in-Marsh , where it turns south of the village to the south. To the east of Shipton-under-Wychwood , it turns again in an easterly direction, only to swing south again on the northwestern outskirts of Charlbury . West of Combe there is another change of direction to the east and west of Bladon at the confluence of the River Glymehe returns in a southerly direction. It flows into the Thames south of Cassington .
Cassington Cut
The Cassington Cut or Old Canal is a short canalized section of the River Evenlode near its confluence with the Thames. The canal connects to the river northwest of Cassington Mill House . ( 51 ° 47 ′ 11 " N , 1 ° 21 ′ 6" W ). The canal runs southeast to its confluence with the Thames southwest of the mouth of the other arm of the river. ( 51 ° 46 ′ 53 ″ N , 1 ° 20 ′ 34 ″ W )
