Riwal Holding Group bv is an international company in the field of height access technology with headquarters in Dordrecht, the Netherlands .

Internationally, the company employs over 2,350 people at 75 locations in 16 countries. It rents and sells height access machines. It also sells spare parts and overhauls machines. The rental fleet includes around 19,000 machines worldwide. The company is the official importer and dealer for JLG Industries , Holland Lift and Teupen Maschinenbau .

history

Dick Schalkamp started renting cranes from Richards & Wallington Cranes in 1968 . Ten years later, the company was the first supplier of height access technology on the Dutch market. In 1988 the rental of aerial work platforms was started under the name Riwal Lift . A year later, he handed the company over to his sons. Since 1995 Riwal has been the official dealer of the aerial platform manufacturer JLG Industries . On the 30th anniversary of the company's founding, the various areas of the company were united under the name Riwal .

In 2001 the company expanded its scope beyond national borders with the creation of Riwal Denmark . In 2005 Riwal expanded to Slovenia , in 2001 to France , Norway and the United Arab Emirates . This was followed by expansions to Croatia , Kazakhstan and Brazil .

In 2008 123 Lift in France and Grupo Clem in Spain were acquired. A year later, Riwal opened in the UK and Qatar , a year later in Germany and India and acquired Instant Holland . In 2011 the acquisition of BMS in Denmark and JPB Matériel in France and the opening of Riwal Sweden took place . In 2013, Riwal acquired the high-altitude access business in Belgium from Sarens . As of this year, the Riwal Group has been fully part of the Dutch investment company ProDelta.

Riwal has owned the Riwal Readynez Cycling Team since 2013 and is the name sponsor of the FC Dordrecht stadium , the Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadium .

Riwal continues to own the Manlift Group, which operates under its brand in the Emirates, Qatar and India.

Around 70% of sales are generated in Europe.

In October 2018, CEO Norty Turner left the company. In July 2019, the previous COO Pedro Torres took over the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Locations

Riwal is represented by branches at 75 locations in 16 countries. Other countries are covered by partners. The company's headquarters are in Dordrecht near Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Germany

In Germany, the company has ten branches and one company headquarters. In 2010, Riwal Deutschland GmbH founded the first branch in Dortmund . This was followed by branches in Bingen am Rhein and Ingersheim . The main markets in Germany are construction, industry, maintenance, logistics and storage. The company rents and sells aerial work platforms such as telescopic platforms , articulated telescopes, scissor lifts and telescopic loaders . Riwal Germany has been a certified International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training center since May 2014 .

In April 2017, Riwal announced the takeover of the aerial platform rental company AFI, which operates in Germany with nine branches.

At the beginning of 2018, Riwal Germany and AFI merged to form Riwal Arbeitsbühnenvermietung GmbH. In autumn of the same year, Adam GmbH, based in Hanau , was taken over. On September 1, 2019, both companies were merged into Riwal Deutschland GmbH.
