The Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion is a football stadium in the Dutch city of Dordrecht , in the province of South Holland . It is the venue of FC Dordrecht . The former name Stadion De Krommedijk is derived from the street on which the facility is located.
history
The stadium in Dordrecht was inaugurated in 1948 and what is now the stadium's business club (the former clubhouse) was built in 1958. Since then, FC Dordrecht (then still called DFC) has played in the facility. The rest of the stands followed a little later. In 1983 and 1986, the club made it to the top Dutch league . A new standing room was built for the first ascent. Three years later, the stadium was renovated for the first division and a new seating area was built. At that time, the club also became the owner of the stadium.
In 1998 the renovation of the stadium was completed. The old auditorium was torn down and rebuilt. The stadium in Dordrecht opened on September 25, 1998 after three years of planning and construction and was named after the Dutch construction company GN Bouw . Before the renovation, the facility held 9,000 spectators. Today the stadium offers 4,100 seats. Six grass football fields and two ash pitches are distributed around the venue. There are also four hard tennis courts, four baseball fields and a large parking lot.
The renaming of the stadium was announced in May 2014. The company Riwal Hoogwerkers bv , which rents and sells work platforms , has given its name .
