The Roßbach is a three kilometer long right and northwest tributary of the Main in the Upper Franconian district of Lichtenfels .

The Roßbach rises at an altitude of 332  m above sea level. NHN in a wooded area about one kilometer southeast of Bad Staffelstein - Stadel in the Scheidhecken corridor .

It initially flows a good 600 meters in an easterly direction through the forest and then turns to the southeast. To the north of the Löhlein corridor , he leaves the forest and enters the open corridor. Shortly afterwards it is fed to the south of the Banz forester's house on its left by the Mühlgraben coming from the north . The Roßbach now runs southwards through grassland, accompanied by thick wood, and then reaches the Bad Staffelsteiner district of Unnersdorf .

At Hausener Straße it disappears piped into the underground and finally flows into Unnersdorf directly west of the Benzbrücke at an altitude of 253  m above sea level. NHN throws into the Main.
