Robert Sims (* 6. December 1983 in Macedonia , Ohio ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the Guards . He plays in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions .

Career

college

Rob Sims graduated from Ohio State University , where he played college football and became team captain in 2005. With his team, the Ohio State Buckeyes , Sims played four bowls , which they all won.

NFL

Sims was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round in 2006 as the 128th player in the NFL Draft . Already in his rookie year he was used as a starter in the offensive line by head coach Mike Holmgren to protect quarterback Matt Hasselbeck . The Seahawks moved into the play-offs this season . There they were able to surprisingly defeat the Dallas Cowboys with 21:20, but then had to admit defeat to the Chicago Bears with 27:24. Sims was used as a starter in both games.

In the 2007 season, Sims was able to establish himself as a regular on the offense . He moved with the Seahawks again in the play-offs. After a 35:14 win against the Washington Redskins , the Seattle team had to admit defeat to the Green Bay Packers 42:20. Sims was also the starter of his team in the play-offs of the 2007 season.

Due to an injury, Sims only played one game in the 2008 season. In the 2009 season, Sims returned as a regular player. However, his team did not make it to the play-offs.

Rob Sims is the son of Mickey Sims , a former defensive linemen of the Cleveland Browns .
