Robert Blumenbach
Robert Blumenbach (born July 1, 1822 in Hanover , † December 19, 1914 there ) was a German colonel and painter .
Life
Robert Blumenbach was a son of Georg Heinrich Wilhelm Blumenbach and a grandson of the doctor, anthropologist and zoologist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach . He was also a nephew of the draftsman, caricaturist and satirist Johann Heinrich Ramberg .
At the time of the Kingdom of Hanover, Blumenbach went through a military career with the Hanoverian Army up to an officer in the artillery .
Blumenbach drew and painted as a hobby, including some motifs from the cityscape of his hometown Hanover, some of which are now owned by the Hanover Historical Museum .
