The Robert Bosch Battery Systems GmbH with headquarters in Stuttgart is a 100% subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH , the battery systems for different vehicle types of hybrid vehicles to pure battery-powered electric vehicles develops, manufactures and distributes. Michael Budde is the managing director. Within the group of companies, the company belongs to the Bosch Mobility Solutions division .

Emerging is the Robert Bosch Battery Systems GmbH from a reorganization within the Bosch Group in 2012, in which the former business units SB LiMotive Germany GmbH in Stuttgart and Cobasys LLC , based in Orion , USA were merged. It was Cobasys LLC to Robert Bosch Battery Systems LLC renamed.

Before the reorganization, the business units had to form a joint venture between Bosch and Samsung SDI called SB LiMotive Co. Ltd. which was disbanded on September 5, 2012. The remaining lithium-ion cell production and cell development at Samsung, Bosch acquired the battery system business at the location in Stuttgart-Feuerbach and integrated Cobasys LLC in its group. Mutual access to the patents was agreed between Samsung and Bosch.

Michael Budde and Joachim Fetzer represented the GmbH as managing directors until May 25, 2016, and Budde has been sole managing director since then.

Production takes place in a plant in Springboro , USA, a former location of Cobasys LLC .

The car manufacturers Fiat , Daimler and BMW , among others , are supplied .
