Robert Shapland Carew, 2nd Baron Carew , KP (born January 23, 1818 in Dublin , † September 8, 1881 in London ) was a British nobleman and politician.

Robert Carew was the eldest son of Robert Carew and his wife Jane Cliffe. His father was an Irish landowner and a long-time member of the House of Commons until he was promoted to Baron Carew in 1834 . Carew attended Eton College from 1829 to 1835 . As a representative of the Liberal Party , he ran successfully for the Irish County Waterford in the 1840 general election . After he had not run again in the 1847 election, he was 1849 sheriff of County Wexford . After his father's death in 1856, he inherited his title, making him a member of the House of Lords . To this end, he took over the office of Lord Lieutenant von Wexford. In 1872 he was accepted into the Order of St. Patrick as a Knight Companion .

On July 16, 1844, Carew had married Emily Anne Philips († 1899), the second daughter of Sir George Richard Philips from Weston in Warwickshire and his wife Sarah Georgiana Cavendish. With her he had two sons:

His eldest son inherited his title, and after his childless death his younger son.
